The amazing narratives concerning e-
learning and digital cultures in the on- line courses provided by the
University of Edinberg and wonders of technology in Hong Kong schools have led
me to think that ICT has a power to transform everyone - students, teachers and parents for better
learning outcomes. The cherished position of this “guru” of the modern time
cannot be taken away or kept in oblivion.

It needs no exaggeration that ICT plays a
great role in schools to impact changes. Some of the benefits are as listed
below.
- · Useful tool to prepare student assessments.
- · Maintains daily time-table and teachers duty rosters.
- · Keeps record of school events and details of students and teachers.
- · Empowers both teachers and students.
- · Makes teaching- learning process effective.
- · Makes learning more accessible and flexible to students.
- · Strengthens interaction and communication between teachers and students.
- · Strengthens interaction and communication between students.
- · Helps to attain effective learning outcomes.
- · Explores and sharpens student’s creativity
- · Helps students think globally.
- · Makes learning interesting
Interestingly, my technological experience
with moodle and blogger is the best example of impact of ICT I can think of that
has made much difference in my life.

ICT has really improved the understanding
level and learning capacity of children. It has a power to transform
them towards betterment. I reckon it as a key to success.
To sum, technology in itself speaks in
volume of its wide use and significance. It depends on us what we think of it
and how we make the best use of it. So the question for everyone is:
I like the idea of how technology can engage the learner more but very often educators use technology as mere "shovel ware". I'm fascinated by Sugta Mitra's social experiment in India (I've put the video on my blog). Thanks
ReplyDelete'it takes students beyond the classroom walls.' This statement catch my eyes. I also agree with you as some students learn more from outside of the classroom. They might have spent hours browsing and collecting the latest information about the topic we are going to present. They might be waiting for us with a lots of information that we have never come accross. So we as educators should race with them to be the first to know.
